Entry Window Now Open for Broadcast News Awards

Attention Radio and Television Stations!

It’s time to start working on your submissions for the Third Annual Texas Broadcast News Awards.

TAB introduced the inaugural awards program in 2022.

The program recognizes outstanding broadcast journalism produced by member Radio and TV stations serving local communities throughout the state and takes the place of the Texas Associated Press Broadcast Awards - which have been discontinued.

Radio Divisions are split into Large (Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio Austin) and Radio Other (all other Texas market).

There are 19 categories in both Large and Other Radio.

New this year – there are now three TV Divisions:

• TV-Large: Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, Austin
• TV-Medium: Waco-Temple-Bryan, Rio Grande Valley, Texarkana-Shreveport, El Paso-Las Cruces, Tyler-Longview-Lufkin Nacogdoches, Corpus Christi, Amarillo, Lubbock
• TV-Small: Beaumont-Port Arthur, Odessa-Midland, Wichita Falls-Lawton, Sherman-Ada, Abilene-Sweetwater, Laredo, San Angelo, Victoria

Each TV Division can submit entries in 26 different categories.

Feels range from $45-$55/entry.

Judges will consider English and Spanish entries on a level playing field and judging consideration will take place from Feb. 5-21.

Most of the winners will be announced on March 1, but some winners will not be announced until the in-person Awards Celebration – April 13 in Austin.

Tickets will go on sale in March.
