JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an exceptional leader to perform all the duties of an HR Director. Responsibilities include performing all generalist duties for this Fox Owned and Operated duopoly (KRIV/KTHX) in Houston.
Job requirements include:
- Managing the Stations’ employee relations and employment programs and initiatives.
- Recruiting/applicant tracking, on-boarding new employees, performance management and performance evaluation administration.
- Administration of FMLA, worker’s compensation, policy administration, and affirmative action compliance and monitoring.
- Assisting in employee programs including HR training and employee engagement events
- The Human Resources Director will work in concert with Station management and Corporate Human Resources to ensure that all employment regulatory requirements are met and all company policies are adhered to.
- Other duties as deemed appropriate and assigned.
- Knowledge and experience working with the OFCCP regulations is a plus.
Position requires at least three years HR Management experience, Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Organizational Development or related discipline, or equivalent work experience. Required skill set includes effective written/verbal communications, creative problem solving and conflict management, and expert computer skills (ATS, HRIS, Workday, PeopleSoft, Microsoft Office, and JDE, a plus). This is a high volume and hands-on administrative position. Must have strong leadership skills and the ability to develop solid collaborative relationships with all levels of staff. Must possess excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills. Must work efficiently under specific time constraints and be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
Some weekends, holidays and varied hours may be required. Must have, or be willing to obtain, a valid driver’s license and be able to drive. Local/national travel may be required. Salary expectations and resume required.

NEWS
News Photographer (Local Programming)
We’re looking for a fun, creative person with the visual expertise and a passion for creating original content that airs on FOX26 Houston, the FOX Local app, and possibly on FOX Soul. The ideal candidate will THINK BIG and will be knowledgeable about creating unique local content for our flagship late-night show The Isiah Factor: Uncensored. The candidate must be able to edit a daily live show with a creative flair and shoot on-location content for linear, digital, and other visual platforms. You must be a self-starter who is unafraid to push the limits when it comes to creating original content. On top of that, it’s essential to be a team player, and bring a “can-do personality” every single day. We’re a tight-knit team and we have high expectations. We’re always looking for ways to ELEVATE our shows and be the GOLD STANDARD in the Houston market.
RESPONSIBILITES
This position will be part of the Local-Programming Initiatives (LPI) team, which falls under the News Department. The Photog/Editor will work on the visual creation for our entertainment & infotainment shows, including The Isiah Factor: Uncensored, The Nightcap, Chattin’ with Chelsea and more! It’s a one-of-a-kind opportunity. We are on the front-line of a changing industry and want to make sure the newest member of our team is thinking about the now and even more importantly, about the future. This position will primarily focus on our hour-long late-night show, The Isiah Factor: Uncensored, but we often work together on content that can be shared across programs. Our shows aren’t just in Houston. Both The Isiah Factor: Uncensored & The Nightcap are seen nationally on FOX Soul.
As newsroom contributors, when major news breaks or severe weather impacts our area, the LPI team shifts gears to serve the needs of the audience.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of photography/editing experience. Non-linear editing in a must, knowledge of Edius or Adobe Premiere Suite is a plus. Also, it’s preferred to have experience with SONY ENT Cameras. The ideal candidate will also be familiar with social media content creation and be adept at identifying unique viral topics. News Photographer
If you love breaking news, creating compelling multi-platform content and great storytelling, KRIV, the Fox O&O in Houston has the perfect position for you. We're looking for a talented and passionate photographer-editor who can shoot and edit in the field. Must be a self-starter, be able to handle live breaking news events, work well under pressure and work collaboratively with other content creators in the newsroom while maintaining all legal and journalistic standards. The position requires the ability to complete tasks with a quick turnaround for traditional linear newscasts in addition to digital platforms such as our FOX Local Streaming App, Fox26.com and social media sites. Must have familiarity with various transmission technologies including cellular backpack technology (such as Live U), microwave and news satellite trucks. Must have knowledge of non-linear editing software, Edius or a similar platform. You may be required to set up live remotes on your own and complete other assignments independently as necessary. Good writing skills are a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field preferred. Experience as a photographer editor in a medium to large market preferred. Ideal candidate should have familiarity with newsroom computer systems. Candidate must be able to do some traveling as required. Fluency in Spanish is a plus. News Producer
Content creators -- this kind of opportunity doesn’t pop up in local newsrooms very often. So, take note and get those resumes ready! KRIV FOX 26 in Houston is hiring a producer to create, plan and deliver the most compelling, informative, and entertaining hour of morning news in the city. This is an ultra-competitive news market, but Houston’s Morning Show is growing and beating the network morning shows regularly from 7-10am. We’re looking for a content rockstar who can move seamlessly from breaking news and severe weather coverage to live segments and studio guests that showcase everything our diverse community has to offer.
You’ll need a sense of urgency and mastery of the control room environment and be ready to take live coverage on linear, streaming platforms or both at the same time. You’ll need to maintain a close relationship with our digital team to ensure that everything we do is tailored for the platforms we serve and that each piece of content we create works in support of our growing digital footprint. Other skills we’re looking for in the ideal candidate include: concise, accurate and audience-focused writing skills, the ability to edit video in support of live and studio segments, plus knowledge of social media best practices.
When your show is over, you’ll jump into planning mode for the next day and beyond, working collaboratively with your teammates. You’ll participate in the editorial process along with anchors, reporters, assignment desk team members and managers to develop future stories and segments, keeping FOX 26 ahead of all local news outlets in creating the most compelling content for our audience.
Requirements: Minimum 2 years’ experience as a producer in a medium or large market is preferred. Bachelor's Degree required, journalism or a related field preferred. Must be able to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines and multitask. Ideal candidate has familiarity with newsroom computer systems, graphics programs and video editing software. Associate Producer
FOX 26, the Fox Owned and Operated multi-platform media hub in Houston, TX, is looking for our next associate producer. The ideal candidate has newsroom experience, a passion for local journalism and a desire to help transform the way we deliver news and information to our diverse multi-platform audience. You’ll help create quality, engaging content for broadcast and digital platforms in collaboration with producers, executive producers, assignment editors, digital producers, anchors and reporters. This content could include news, pop-culture, weather and even traffic related content as assigned. You’ll need strong writing skills with particular attention given to captivating headlines, teases and easy to digest copy. You’ll also need the ability to edit video for broadcast, web and social platforms. The goal for all associate producers is to grow in their roles, filling in as producers with the intent to advance within the company. You’ll be working collaboratively with a cross-section of newsroom employees, so strong people skills and a positive attitude are keys to success. We’re a 24/7 operation, with frequent tight deadlines and unpredictable events. Candidates must be willing and able to work any shift, including overnight, early morning or weekends.
A 4-year degree in journalism, media studies or related field is preferred. At least one year producing newscasts in a commercial newsroom environment, preferably a smaller television market will set you ahead of the pack. Account Executive
KRIV Fox 26/ KTXH My 20 the Fox O&O in Houston, TX is looking for an Account Executive. This AE is responsible for developing new business and selling digital and OTT products by maximizing opportunities and growing transactional accounts. This position requires someone who will identify opportunities and close new sales. The ideal candidate will prospect and aggressively pursue digital, OTT and new business advertisers. Provide strategic advice to help new television advertisers get the best ROI by working closely with them in a consultative role. The successful AE candidate must be able to identify qualified targets, use strong communication and presentation skills throughout the sales process and maintain a high closing ratio. We are looking for someone that can bring together all our resources [FLX/OTT, Top Rated Local News, FOX network, FOX sports, MyNetwork TV, Web/Digital Sponsorships and Promotions] in a creative manner to achieve a high level of results. Other responsibilities include but not limited to: strategically negotiating existing business along with obtaining incremental dollars from the existing market and building strong client relationships. Responsible for completing administrative tasks such as weekly forecasts, monthly reports, new business trackers, OTT trackers, weekly meeting forms and the credit and collection of all accounts.
Four-year college degree preferred. The ideal candidate will be a sales professional with preferred television and digital sales experience and have a proven track record of success in sales. Knowledge of media math, TV impressions and digital metrics is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Wide Orbit Sales and Traffic knowledge preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft office programs preferred. We are looking for someone who is energetic, positive, creative and passionate to succeed in the highly competitive environment of media sales.
