Job Summary/Description:
KFDA, Newschannel10, the market leader is looking for a Sports Director to join our winning team here in Amarillo, Texas. We are looking for a good storyteller to lead our sports department. The right candidate will have a proven track record in hyper-local sports coverage and know how to find the local "human story" tied to each piece they produce.
We are searching for a driven Sports Director with a passion for finding and telling local, human-focused sports stories. You will be a critical part of our dominant sports team and must contain a true drive to win, learn, grow, and lead with our sports staff.
Please note- the primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed above
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Ability to shoot and edit video, and effectively communicate live on-air
• Flexibility in scheduling, to respond to the changing landscape
• A four-year degree in journalism or related field, or equivalent professional experience
• A strong love for telling unique sports stories and NOT regurgitating national sports
