Time to Confirm UIL Partnerships with ISDs

- Stations Urged to Act Now

TAB has been alerted that the University Interscholastic League, the Texas governing body for extracurricular activities at the high school level, has begun asking school districts across Texas to confirm their preferred broadcast partners for the coming school year.

Stations should always reach out in the spring to those schools and school districts that a station normally covers as part of its play-by-play coverage of local high school football games.

This is especially important if your station has interest in video streaming playoff games in the upcoming UIL football season.

Stations should act now and reach out to your schools and school district(s) to confirm that relationship.

Once school districts provide this information to the UIL, broadcasters will be connected with the UIL’s third-party marketing arm, Sports in Action, to work out affiliate agreements.

TAB is working with the UIL on the process and structure of the postseason agreements and will keep stations advised as details become available.

Questions? Contact TAB’s Oscar Rodriguez or call (512) 322-9944.
