TAB Launches Series of Regional Legislative Lunch Meetings in Austin

- Regrouping After Ice Storm Freezes Out Statewide Conference

Texas broadcasters have another opportunity to meet with their state lawmakers in Austin as TAB arranges regional gatherings prompted by the cancelation of the Jan. 31 Legislative Day Conference because of a devastating ice storm. The lunch meetings start Feb. 14 and will be held in TAB’s Board Room just two blocks from the Capitol.

The convivial settings will feature some of the best barbecue in Central Texas and provide an opportunity for lawmakers and broadcasters to discuss their goals for the session and opportunities to partner in addressing community concerns.

  • Feb. 15 – Central Texas Broadcasters (Waco-Temple-Killeen-Bryan-College Station)
  • Feb. 21 – Houston Broadcasters
  • Feb. 22 – South Texas Broadcasters (San Antonio, Victoria, Corpus Christi, Rio Grande Valley, Laredo)

AGENDA

As always, there will be no speeches or program at the event, and broadcasters will be seated with their lawmakers.

Before lawmakers arrive, TAB staff will brief TAB members on the latest developments regarding Texas broadcasters’ 2023 legislative priorities

Each luncheon is slated for a two-hour window to provide lawmakers ample opportunity to attend as they navigate their legislative schedules.

Broadcasters are asked to register as early as possible so TAB can alert lawmakers well in advance.
