RMT schedule now available

The 2008 EAS Required Monthly Test schedule is now available.

The schedule is set annually by Texas' two Primary Entry Point (PEP) Stations: WBAP-AM Dallas-Fort Worth and KTRH-AM Houston.

The PEP stations initiate the RMT on the Tuesday of the first full week of each month. Other EAS regions receive the RMT via either a daisy chain relay or by the Texas State Networks' satellite dissemination.

If a station doesn't receive an RMT, the FCC requires the station must make ?a good faith effort? to determine why it was not received. It is sufficient to make an inquiry to the local primary station and note the inquiry in the station's EAS log.
