RCFP’s ProJourn Slates Texas Open Records Law Webinar for Sept. 12

- TAB News Producing Workshop Set for November

Texas’ open records laws are the focus of an hour-long Sept. 12 virtual legal workshop presented by ProJourn and headlined by Tom Williams, partner with the Haynes Boone law firm, a TAB Associate Member.

ProJourn, a pro bono legal initiative for local journalists operated by the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, provides small news organizations, nonprofit newsrooms, documentary filmmakers and freelancers no-cost legal help with pre-publication review and public records access.

The initiative is funded by RCFP, Microsoft Corp., the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Davis Write Tremaine law firm.

SAVE THE DATE: TAB, Tompkins News Producing Workshop Nov. 17-18

Just a couple months later, Texas broadcast professionals and college students alike will have an opportunity to attend one of two day-long news producing workshops with Al Tompkins, formerly of the Poynter Institute for Media Studies.

The identical programs will be held in person at the TAB building in downtown Austin.

Registration will be limited to 45 students for each workshop.  Fees and other details will be announced soon.
