Music rights for broadcasters, webcasters

- Raft of pending issues belies absence of headlines

Rave reviews continue to pour in for the programs and events at TAB’s Annual Convention a few weeks ago which broke records with more than 1,400 registrants and boasted a jam-packed floor in the 124-booth trade show from start to finish.

An expansive presentation on music rights for broadcasters and webcasters was just one of the 29 programs featured in the fast-paced agenda that spanned the day and a half agenda.

Attorney David Oxenford with Wilkinson Barker & Knauer, LLP, was joined by Travis Ploeger of SoundExchange in this overview of the nuts and bolts of royalty obligations and the many pending matters that broadcasters should be minding.

Oxenford provides a rundown of the TAB session on key music royalty issues in his Aug. 24 blog post.
