Broadcasters honored for NCSA contributions

TAB presented Lone Star Leader awards to several stations for their outstanding contributions to the Non-Commercial Sustaining Announcement Program.

The awards were presented as part of TAB's 61st Annual Convention & Trade Show, Aug. 6-7 in Austin.

An NCSA is a special kind of PSA that allows TAB to partner with stations and charitable or governmental entities to deliver important, often life-saving public service messages while also generating revenue to support TAB’s member services.

"The NCSA program is a win-win-win that benefits the sponsoring organizations, the people of Texas and TAB’s member stations," said TAB Board Member David Loving, GM of Univision Television Houston.

"From recruiting top-notch, Texas-grown talent for the National Guard, Air Force Reserve or the Coast Guard, to promoting energy and water conservation and protecting society’s most vulnerable children, TAB’s NCSA program makes a tremendous difference in the lives of all Texans."
