GOP Lt. Governor candidates to debate Jan. 27, broadcast available to air by stations

The four candidates in the Republican Primary for Texas Lieutenant Governor will square off at 8:00 p.m. CDT on Monday, Jan. 27, in the Texas Debates: Race for Lt. Governor.

The one-hour live debate between Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst, State Senator Dan Patrick, Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson and Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples will be available for broadcast on television, radio and streaming online.

TAB is once again funding the television satellite distribution of The Texas Debates in order that stations may air the broadcast as a public service or use portions in news coverage.

The broadcast will feature real-time Spanish language translation and real-time closed captioning.

It will be produced jointly by KERA-TV/FM, KXAS-TV and KXTX-TV.

In addition to TAB and these stations, other Texas Debates partners include the Houston Public Media, KUT-FM, Texas State Networks, Texas Tribune, Houston-Chronicle/San Antonio Express-News and the Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas.

Satellite, streaming and on-site coverage details for the debate are available here.
