Walter F. Ulloa, the chairman and chief executive of Spanish-language broadcaster Entravision Communications, died over the New Year’s holiday weekend from a sudden heart attack. He was 74.

Ulloa had worked in the TV and Radio industry for more than five decades.

"The broadcast industry, TAB and communities throughout Texas lost a visionary leader and community servant with the passing of Entravision CEO Walter F. Ulloa on New Year’s Eve," said TAB President Oscar Rodriguez.

"He was not just a passionate advocate for quality journalism and entertainment serving Spanish-language audiences, but also a keen business executive whose inspiring leadership grew Entravision into a media powerhouse across the country.

"Walter had a keen eye for talent, recruiting visionary leaders who have made a huge impact on the Lone Star State, earning some of TAB’s top honors.  They are among his many legacies and on behalf of all Texas broadcasters I extend condolences to them and his entire family."
