Another incumbent Republican congressman challenged in primary

A physician has emerged as a challenger to a Panhandle congressman, bringing to five the number of sitting Republican congressmen who are being challenged in the Republican primary by other right wing candidates.

Last week Dr. Donald May announced his candidacy for CD19, the U.S. House of Representatives district currently held by Rep. Randy Neugebauer, R-Lubbock.

The four remaining incumbent U.S. Congressmen from Texas who face challengers in the March Republican primary include Representatives Ralph Hall, R-Rockwall; Mac Thornberry, R-Clarendon; Lamar Smith, R-San Antonio; and Pete Sessions, R-Dallas.
