Watler joins Jackson Walker

TAB Board Member Paul Watler joined the Dallas office of law firm Jackson Walker this month. Watler comes to the Gold Patron Associate Member law firm from Jenkens & Gilchrist, where he'd been a shareholder since 1981.

Watler serves as Open Government counsel to the TAB Board and is a member of the Open Government Task Force. Texas broadcasters honored him with the 2003 TAB Associate of the Year award for his outstanding service to the industry and his many legal contributions to the fight to protect Freedom of Information in Texas.

"Paul has always been a big part of what we do for Texas newsrooms here at TAB. Whether it's defending newsrooms in court, testifying before legislative committees, or working on Open Government bill language, Paul has been there for broadcasters," said Michael Schneider, TAB's director of programs.
