Upcoming TAB Webinar Reviews the FCC’s Political Broadcast Rules
posted on 11.20.2017In preparation for the 2018 Texas political season, TAB has arranged a members-only webinar featuring attorney David Oxenford of TAB Associate Member law firm Wilkinson Barker Knauer, and Bobby Baker, the chief of the FCC's Political Broadcast bureau, to review the FCC’s political broadcast regulations.
The FREE two-hour long online session takes place on Thursday, Nov. 30 at Noon CT.
There is no limit to the number of station staff who can sign up for the webinar. Nonmember stations interested in joining can contact TAB’s Beth Bobbitt.
Baker and Oxenford will discuss candidate on-air appearances including the news exceptions to the political broadcast rules; candidate and third party political advertising; sponsorship identification for such advertising; political file recordkeeping; political advertising sales practices; and lowest unit charge/lowest unit rate (LUC/LUR).
Stations should take advantage of this opportunity to reexamine the FCC’s political broadcast rules before the FCC’s political window opens in Texas on Jan. 20, 2018.
