(AUSTIN - TX) The Texas Lyceum 2016 Poll, a public service provided by the state’s only nonpartisan, nonprofit premier leadership public policy group, is scheduled to be released at a news conference in Austin, Texas on Wednesday, September 14, 9:00 AM at the Texas Association of Broadcasters, Ann Arnold Center, 502 East 11th Street, 2nd floor.

The following morning, Thursday, September 15, a second set of poll results from the same survey will be released via a news release and on the Texas Lyceum website covering the U.S Presidential race, job approval numbers, right track/wrong track and Texans’ attitude about the state and national economies.

The Texas Lyceum Poll, which was in the field from September 1 – September 11 surveys 1,000 Texas adults and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1 percentage points. The poll enlists the latest in polling techniques, using live interviewers and contacting respondents both by landline as well as on cell phones (40%) with the use of English and Spanish language instrumentation and interviewing.

"This year marks the 10th annual Texas Lyceum Poll and we're honored to provide it as a public service to Texas. The 2016 poll will test major public policy issues facing our state and will be one of the last polls focused on Texas leading up to the presidential election," said 2016 Texas Lyceum President Dave Shaw. "Anyone who follows politics and public policy will not want to miss the trial ballots or Texans' perceptions of issues heating up for the 85th Legislature."

Daron Shaw (no relation to Dave Shaw) Ph.D., a Lyceum Alumnus and Professor at the University of Texas at Austin, and Joshua Blank Ph.D, manager of polling and research at the Texas Politics Project, independently conducted the 2016 Texas Lyceum Poll as they have for the past ten years.
