Texas FOI Conference Set for Sept. 13 – Registration Open Now

Registration is now open for the Sept. 13 Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas’ annual state conference in Austin. 

TAB is one of several sponsors of the event which brings together journalists, government leaders, attorneys and interested citizens to delve into the current issues of government transparency and free speech. 

FOIFT annually honors FOI heroes with the James Madison Award and outstanding journalism with the Spirit of FOI Award.

University of Texas professor and journalist Kathleen McElroy will be the conference keynote speaker. 

More details on the agenda and speakers will be available later this month.

The conference will be held at the Hilton Austin, 500 E. Fourth St. 

Hotel rooms for the night of Thursday, Sept. 12, are available at the Hilton at a conference rate of $259 plus tax. 

The cutoff date for obtaining this rate is Aug. 13.
