Texas FM hit with $1,500 fine for failure to timely file license renewal application

The FCC has fined B&H Broadcasting, licensee of KZRB-FM New Boston, $1,500 for failing to timely file its 2013 radio license renewal application.   Texas radio station license renewals were due April 1, 2013.

FCC documents say it did not receive KZRB’s application until May 6, 2013, a violation of Section 73.3539 of the FCC’s rules which requires that applications for renewal of license for broadcast stations must be filed “not later than the first day of the fourth full calendar month prior to the expiration date of the license sought to be renewed.”

KZRB provided no explanation for the untimely filing of the renewal application.   In issuing the fine, the FCC also approved KZRB’s license renewal.
