Taylor Chamber to honor Broadcast Pioneer Carolyn Jacksonposted on 1.04.2018
The Taylor Chamber of Commerce is planning a community event to honor Broadcast Pioneer (and Taylor native) Carolyn Jackson.
The event is set for Sunday, Jan. 21 from 3-5 pm.
"The Carolyn Jackson Story" will premiere at the Howard Theatre. The movie is the newest video in the Taylor High School Duck Hall of Fame series.
Often referred to as a pioneer woman in broadcasting, Jackson talks about growing up in Taylor, graduating with the first broadcasting degree offered by the University of Texas, and entering a field that was dominated by men.
Jackson is known for her daytime television series, “The Carolyn Jackson Show,” which aired through the 1970s on KTBC-TV, and later KXAN-TV Austin.
