TAB Rolls Out Sales & News Training for 2020 Elections

- Political Advertising, Election Reporting in January

With what is likely to be the most robust political season Texas broadcasters have seen in two decades, TAB is offering separate training programs in January to help sales teams and newsrooms make the most of the opportunities to serve candidates and voters alike. Both programs are available for member stations only and at little or no cost.

Jan. 11 TAB Newsroom Workshop: Covering the 2020 Election
In conjunction with The Poynter Institute and Google News Lab, TAB will present a day-long workshop, Covering the 2020 Election, on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020.  This seminar will benefit newsroom managers, reporters, MMJs, newscast producers, online/social media producers and assignment editors.

Al Tompkins of the Poynter Institute will help broadcast journalists move beyond the usual horse race political coverage of polls and daily gaffes, to deeply and more meaningfully cover key issues of importance to voters.  Tompkins will also demonstrate how key Google Tools can help newsrooms enhance their election coverage.

The workshop will take place at TAB’s Ann Arnold Center at 502 E. 11th Street in Austin.  The class size is limited to 50 attendees.

Registration, which includes lunch and continental breakfast, is $25.  Seats are going quickly, so don’t delay in registering for this event.
