Attorney Laura Prather of TAB Associate Member law firm Haynes and Boone LLP will review what actions the 85th Texas Legislature took (and didn’t take) to revise the Texas Public Information Act as well as other state laws affecting newsgathering.
Prather is a longtime member of TAB’s Newsroom Legislative Committee and has been a key player in TAB’s successful efforts to pass the Free Flow of Information Act (reporter shield law), Citizen Participation Act (anti-SLAPP litigation law), and Defamation Mitigation Act (uniform retractions and corrections law).
