TAB funds distribution, Spanish translation of Gov. and Lt. Gov. debates
posted on 10.07.2014TV stations in Austin and Dallas hosted two broadcast debates during the last few days of September featuring candidates for statewide office.
TAB participated in both events by funding the satellite distribution and real-time Spanish translation of each debate, distributing feed information to all interested Texas radio and TV stations and tracking station clearances by market.
On Sept. 29, Lt. Gov. hopefuls state Sens. Dan Patrick (R-Houston) and Leticia Van de Putte (D-San Antonio) took part in a debate produced by KLRU-TV Austin, KAKW-TV Austin and the Texas Tribune. KUT-FM Austin assisted Texas radio stations by producing audio streams of the event for NPR, TSN and another distribution service.
On Sept. 30, the action shifted to Dallas where Republican Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott faced off against Sen. Wendy Davis (D-Ft. Worth), in a debate produced by KERA-TV/FM Dallas-Ft. Worth, KXAS-TV Dallas-Ft. Worth and KXTX-TV Dallas-Ft. Worth.
