TAB funding statewide distribution of Cruz/Sadler debate

The Republican and Democratic U.S. Senate nominees to replacing retiring Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas, will square off live in The Texas Debates: Race for U.S. Senate on Friday, Oct.19 at 7 p.m. CT.

It’s the second scheduled broadcast debate featuring Republican Ted Cruz, a former Texas Solicitor General, and the Democratic nominee former state representative Paul Sadler.

The debate will be produced at the KERA-TV studios in Dallas and moderated by KERA News Managing Editor Shelley Kofler.

TAB will fund the statewide satellite distribution of the Oct. 19 Texas Debates event to Texas TV stations and arrange for several distribution paths for Texas radio stations.

TAB will also fund the real-time Spanish language translation of the debate.

The Texas Debates is produced by KERA in partnership with Univision Texas.

Belo Texas TV stations have previously announced a broadcast debate between the Senate candidates on Oct 2 at 7 p.m. CT.
