Spreading good vibes on tax day

 - Scholarship apps due April 15        

Mid-April draws a lot of scorn for its association with the April 15 federal income tax deadline.  With the numerous tragedies that share an anniversary around that day, there’s more than enough reason for the casually superstitious to want to stay indoors then.

But for broadcast students and parents struggling to pay for college, April 15 is a day of hope when applications for $21,000 in college scholarships offered by the Texas Broadcast Education Foundation are due for evaluation.

The new Ann Arnold scholarship is in the amount of $5,000; eight additional scholarships are in the amount of $2,000 each.  Please alert any interns or college students you think would merit such financial assistance to this opportunity.

Scholarship applications must be postmarked by April 15^th.  Students can bypass the stated membership criteria by interviewing the owner or general manager of a local broadcast station and submitting a transcript or report of the interview with the application.

Applications will be reviewed by the TBEF Board of Directors.
