Schedule for TAB’s 60th Anniversary Convention takes shape

Texas broadcasters will gather in Austin Aug. 7-8 for TAB’s 60th Annual Convention & Trade Show featuring 121 exhibit booths with the latest broadcast equipment and an aggressive schedule of programs addressing regulatory and legal concerns, social media, new technology and sales training.

Station owners, managers, engineers and sales teams will have more than 30 programs to choose from over a day and a half, including many featuring some of the top names in the business.

Cox Media has already confirmed Herman Cain as the keynote speaker for the Annual Awards Gala on Thursday, Aug. 8 at 7:30 pm.

Registration opens in May

Attendee registration officially opens on Wednesday, May 1.

“I’ve attended every TAB convention for the past dozen years and one comment I’ve heard frequently is that the information shared at the conference is well worth the investment,” said Patti C. Smith, TAB Convention Committee Co-Chair.

“Our 60th Anniversary program this year will be our best ever, and even with the first slight increase in registration fees since 1997, this meeting continues to be an unmatched value.”

Registration packages include:

  • Member Full: $125
  • Spouse/Guest (must accompany a Full registration): $75
  • Sales/Programming: $45
  • Engineer: $45
  • Walk-Around Lunch Ticket: $20
  • Trade Show Only: $25

Registration rates increase after July 7.

TAB’s group rate at the Renaissance Austin Hotel is $159/night (+tax).

The Renaissance recently renovated and gave a modern update to all their guest rooms.

The group rate will open in May.

Sponsorships, exhibit booths now on sale

TAB offers many great exposure opportunities for companies want to reach broadcast managers, sales teams and engineers.

Sponsorship packages range from $2,500-$6,000 and TAB staff will customize every package to meet the sponsoring company’s needs.

TAB revised the layout of the ever-popular Trade Show in order to increase the number of booths (121 total) and accommodate more exhibitors.

Booths went on sale Feb. 6 and as of today there are 35 booths remaining.

The Trade Show is open from 9 am-5 pm on Thursday, Aug. 8.
