RDR offers tool to help broadcasters increase political ad sales

In time for 2018 election campaigning that has already begun, a powerful resource is now available to help them to help broadcasters increase their share of the projected billions of dollars that will be spent on political advertising between now and the November 6, 2018 General Election. Revenue Development Resources (RDR) is again providing stations with access to the Edmonds Political Contact Database.

The database provides contact information for thousands of candidates and campaigns, from justice of the peace to presidential campaigns. Also included are the PACs and interest groups that advertise; their contact details, and the political firms doing their media buying.  The information is compiled, and regularly updated, by leading political consultants Edmonds Associates.

Tom Edmonds is a veteran political media consultant, author, and past president of both the American and International Associations of Political Consultants. He states, “Nearly 75% of all political election activity will be in county and local races—where the broadcast media’s footprint is strong. We can help them capture a larger share of this ‘cash’ business.”

Edmonds explained, “During the last five election cycles we have worked with over 1,000 newspapers across the country, including every major chain, and helped that industry substantially increase its share of the political advertising dollar. We are now reaching out to apply some of our expertise to the radio and television industry, by working with the broadcast revenue experts at Revenue Development Resources.”

RDR President Mark Levy commented, “As our name implies, we are constantly looking for tools to help broadcasters with revenue development. During the 2016 elections, this data helped stations capture more political money. The databases will enable broadcasters to get to political decision makers faster, and ultimately get bigger shares of the buys.”

Subscribers receive the database of contact information, ongoing updates to all lists, a customizable Political PowerPoint that can be used for staff training and client presentations, plus ongoing communication of best practices, success stories and other relevant political information throughout the election season.
