Raycom stations roll out live OTT news offering

KLTV and KTRE, Raycom Media stations in Tyler / Longview and Lufkin / Nacogdoches, have launched their new OTT streaming product "East Texas Now."

This first-of-its-kind local news product is designed to deliver news, weather, sports, and entertainment news as it happens on any streaming device consumers choose and is available through all digital streaming platforms including kltv.com, ktre.com, ROKU, Amazon Fire and the KLTV & KTRE mobile News apps.

"East Texas Now" will feature 18 hours a day of local news coverage from 4:30 am through 10:30 pm, either through live streaming from the East Texas Now newsroom, with live reports from the field and interaction with East Texas Now consumers or through live streaming of our regularly scheduled newscasts.

"'East Texas Now' was created to meet the new demands of content consumers in the streaming Over-The-Top and digital world.  This new platform will give viewers the ability to see news as it happens, when it happens," said KLTV/KTRE Vice President/General Manager Pat Stacey.

“This new hardware investment and workflow structure is exciting and will help us better serve traditional news viewers as well as the fast-growing digital universe – regardless of how content is consumed."

"Our KLTV and KTRE News Teams are excited to begin presenting hours of live news and information daily over our digital platforms, including our streaming OTT applications. We will broadcast from our KLTV newsroom and our audience can now follow breaking news as it happens,” said  News Director Kenny Boles.

“It’s a little less formal with a lot more news.  Folks don’t have to wait.  It’s all about now - 'East Texas Now.'  And our viewers will find out details on major stories at the very same time we do.”
