Pickens inducted into Hall of Fame

Dick Pickens, president of TAB Associate Member Microcom Systems, was inducted into the Texas Radio Hall Fame during ceremonies held in San Antonio on Nov. 10.

Pickens began his broadcasting career in 1946 at KEBE Jacksonville and is currently an inspector for TAB’s Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program.

His previous station affiliations include KBUD Athens, KSIJ Gladewater, KLTI Longview, KELP El Paso, KTRN/KSYD Wichita Falls, KOKE Austin, KNOW Austin and KASE/KVET Austin.

Pickens and his wife Nancy also recently became great-grandparents.
