FCC Enters into More “Timely-Filing” Consent Decrees with Texas Broadcaster

The FCC announced ten more consent decrees it has entered into with Texas radio station licensees for Station Public Inspection File lapses self-admitted in stations’ license renewal filings.

Each of the five licensees, Brazos Communications West, LLC; Estrella Radio License of Houston, LLP; Estrella Radio License of Dallas, LLP; Foster Communications Company, Inc.; and Patrick Broadcasting, Inc., revealed untimely public file uploads in the FCC station license renewal filed earlier this year.

In each case, the stations failed to timely upload elements of the political file component of the public file.

The FCC said the stations were not fined due in part to a lack of any history of prior offenses by the licensee.

Instead, the ten stations in Beaumont, Bridgeport, Houston, Midland, Muenster, Odessa, Port Arthur and San Angelo, voluntarily entered consent decrees with the FCC to implement a multi-pronged, comprehensive compliance plan to ensure future compliance with station online public inspection file obligations.
