The contest recognizes general-interest journalists in 10 different categories. If you’re in radio, enter your work in the radio or in-depth radio categories.

For television, you can enter the small-market or large-market television categories, and/or the in-depth television category. And maybe you’ve got a body of great work to enter in the Texas Health Journalist of the Year category.

Don’t be shy; you can enter multiple times. Any work broadcast in 2013 is eligible.

You can win prize money ranging from $500 to $1,000. Entries are due Jan. 15, 2014.

For more than 50 years, TMA has honored award-winning Texas journalists with the Anson Jones, MD, Awards for excellence in medical news reporting. TMA physicians and members of TMA’s Council on Health Promotion judge the competition, along with respected journalists from the news publishing and broadcast fields.
