After a focused, fast-paced two-day agenda at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions Aug. 7-8, sales teams will leave better prepared to fill their funnels thanks to Pat Bryson’s “Getting the Appointment” session and learn how to transform clients’ digital insights into broader and larger buys with Jessica Jett Hill’s “Translating for Digital” presentation.
Auto advertising veteran John Tkac will lay bare the extraordinary shifts in the key segment’s business that mean big opportunities for stations in “The Retail Auto Industry is Booming in Texas” while sales guru Paul Weyland teases out some of the innovative new promotions strategies being deployed across the industry in “Rock Your Revenue: Unleashing Creativity in Sales & Promotions.”
These programs dovetail with three powerful keynote presentations by AI groundbreaker Daniel Anstandig of Futuri Media, tech and data guru Dr. Shawn Dubravac, and Texas business icon and Bobby Jenkins who all point to new ways of doing business, serving audiences and growing revenue.

More on Tap for Managers, Engineers
Before celebrating Texas broadcasting’s biggest honors at the Awards Gala, managers will hear insights from Jacobs Media’s Paul Jacobs who lays out a five-year approach to the Radio and TV station of the future, and AR&D’s Jerry Gumbert and Earle Jones latest thinking and strategy on how to build a value proposition for today’s viewers and listeners as broadcasters continue their digital evolution.
In addition to the 125-booth exhibit hall showcasing cutting edge gear from the industry’s top vendors, engineers and other tech-minded station leaders are set to hone their skills in programs ranging from cloud-based master controls for TV and virtualization of Radio stations, to cybersecurity and emergency preparedness, to antenna sweep systems and protecting STL links.
New Tech Workshops Offered
TAB this year also is offering these additional programs for an additional fee:
- Continental Transmitter Maintenance Workshop – A day and a half workshop starting Aug. 6 and featuring hands-on repair and servicing of a Continental 816 transmitter.
- Fundamentals of RF for Broadcasters – A half-day workshop on Aug. 7 on the fundamentals of RF and related project planning, troubleshooting and maintaining a high-power broadcast transmission facility.
New Home at Kalahari, Tourney at Forest Creek Golf Club
TAB is eagerly anticipating Kalahari Resorts & Conventions in Round Rock, just 23 miles north of the previous location, as the new home for the TAB Show away from downtown Austin traffic and parking constraints.
Golfers take to the links early on Aug. 7 at Forest Creek Golf Club, an easy drive from the host hotel, and guests can choose to extend their stays a day or two with spouses or family to enjoy the arcade, water park and other offerings at Kalahari, renowned for its “business in the front, party in the back” personality.
The agenda was developed by a committee of more than two dozen Texas broadcasters with an emphasis on avoiding excessive cross-programming to ensure attendees can experience as much of the content as possible.
