FCC fines KZRB-FM New Boston $1,500 over failure to file timely license renewal application

The FCC has fined B&H Broadcasting System, Inc., licensee of KZRB-FM New Boston, $1,500 for failing to file a license renewal application in 2013.  The FCC said the station’s previous license application was due on April 1, 2013, but the station did not file a renewal application until May 6, 2013.  FCC documents said the station provided “no explanation for the untimely filing of the application.” 

The FCC said it issued a $1,500 Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture (“NAL”) in November, but received no response.As such, the FCC this month upheld its earlier decision and said it concluded that the station “willfully violated Section 73.3539” of its rules and “that no circumstances warrant reduction or cancellation of the forfeiture.”

The commission also said it would withhold grant of the renewal application until B&H Broadcasting had completed payment of the forfeiture.
