Broadcasters Mourn Loss of Don Sitton
posted on 10.16.2018Longtime Texas Broadcaster Don Sitton, GM and morning show host at KPET Lamesa, lost his fight with cancer on Oct. 13. He was 64.
Sitton was legally blind since birth but had always dreamt of being in radio.
KCBD-TV Lubbock profiled him in 2004.
Sitton worked in Lamesa for 30 years, previously holding positions in Lubbock, Amarillo and San Angelo.
He received numerous awards during his 45-year career as a radio broadcaster, becoming known as "The Voice of Lamesa."
Funeral services are set for Wed., Oct. 17 at 2 pm at the First Baptist Church in Lamesa.
The family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church Building Fund, Handbell Fund, or Scholarship Fund, 801 S 1st Street, Lamesa, TX, 79331.
