Creighton announces for Agriculture Commissioner

State Rep. Brandon Creighton, R-Conroe, will run for the Republican nomination for Texas Agriculture Commissioner.

Creighton made the announcement Aug. 9.

The post that is being vacated by current Commissioner Todd Staples who is running for Lt. Governor in 2014.

Creighton is an 8th-generation Texan who owns a ranch in Madison.

He is a businessman and attorney who chairs the House Select Committee on Federalism and Fiscal Responsibility.
