Congressional PSAs Satellite Feed

Several Texas members of Congress or their spouses last month recorded 30-second PSAs through the National Association of Broadcasters? 25-year old Congressional Public Service Announcement program for airing during off-election cycles.

The PSAs address breast and skin cancer awareness and prevention, mental health awareness, heart health, volunteerism, emergency preparedness, literacy and online predators. 

NAB offers these announcements for airing through December 15, 2011.  Below you?ll find:

  • details of PSA satellite feeds on July 7, July 14 and July 21, and
  • a list of participating Texas members of Congress and spouses 

Airing these PSAs is an excellent way for you and your station to foster a closer relationship with your lawmaker and to remind legislators of the enduring power of free and local broadcasting.  

You can select and download the broadcast-quality PSAs at http://nab.psamedia.org/

To access regional spots, first register to create a login account; then click on the Texas folder from the homepage. Select and download PSAs featuring your stations? respective members of Congress.  NAB Public Service Initiatives has also arranged for one HD and two SD satellite feeds for television broadcasters to take down the spots on July 7, July 14 and July 21. Texas? PSAs will be fed approximately from 5:00 ? 5:25 PM EST.
