The Kneeland Project is seeking applications for the 2010 New Media Leadership Forum.
This session for experienced, dynamic, and innovative news directors will be held October 13-16, 2010 in Austin.
Thanks to the Project?s generous funders, this opportunity is nearly free for news directors. The Kneeland Project pays for all tuition costs as well as accommodations. Individuals cover only transportation and a few meals.
The Kneeland Project has an innovative new agenda, engaging high-level content experts, and is focusing this session on the changing nature of the television newsgathering business.
The conference will tackle such issues as:
- Leadership and ethics in a 24-7 socially networked world
- What the broadcasting world will look like in the next three, five, ten years and beyond
- How core values and high ethical standards must continue to play a major role in all media
- Challenges and opportunities in times of change
- Leading Millennials
- How social media is changing the face of our business and what you should be doing today
- How processes and systems must evolve to meet the challenges of our business
Most importantly, attendees will leave the program with a solid plan to guide leadership decisions starting the day one returns to their newsroom. This isn't theoretical stuff that will be put on a shelf and neglected. Attendees walk away with concrete action items to implement immediately that will make a difference at the station...and in a news director?s life.
It's an intensive program unlike any other. It's practical. It's highly interactive. It produces long-lasting results. Attendees will return to the newsroom refreshed and ready to tackle the overwhelming challenges news directors now face.
Applications are due Friday, July 23, and only 18 news directors will be selected for this program.
