Broadcasters mourn loss of Ed Shane

Longtime Texas broadcaster Ed Shane passed away on March 21 after a short battle with colon cancer. He was 69.

Shane and his wife Pam were founders of Shane Media in Houston, as well as the Texas Music Chart and Best in Texas online music magazine.

His long career also included a stint as PD at KTRH Houston as well as project manager for Radio One's stations in Houston.

"Texas radio lost a passionate champion this weekend with the passing of Ed Shane," said TAB President Oscar Rodriguez.

"A much-loved broadcaster and highly valued consultant, Ed’s insight and leadership helped scores of stations better serve their local listeners with legendary and groundbreaking music alike.
