Broadcasters Mourn Loss of Bernie Giesler

Longtime TAB Associate Member Bernie Giesler passed in peace on Friday, June 8.

Bernie started Giesler Broadcasting Supply in 1978 and the company has been well-involved in TAB's growth for many years.

GBS is a strong supporter of the Annual Convention & Trade Show and broadcasters named Bernie Associate of the Year in 1994.

As a member of the TAB Board of Directors, he also served on the committee to construct TAB's permanent home, the Ann Arnold Center in downtown Austin.

Bernie retired in 1998 and his children continue to run GBS, supporting broadcasters in Texas and throughout the country.

More than 28 years ago, Bernie and longtime broadcast engineer Steve Schott also started the annual Engineer's Dinner, held during the TAB Convention.

He is survived by his five children, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  He will be laid to rest next to his wife in a private family service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your local Make A Wish Foundation so an ill child can see their dreams come true.
