Broadcast Education Foundation offers scholarships to Texas broadcasting students

 - Inaugural Ann Arnold Scholarship to be awarded

The Texas Broadcast Education Foundation is offering $21,000 in scholarships to Texas college students pursuing a career in the industry, with applications due April 15, 2014.

The first $5,000 Ann Arnold Scholarship for advanced broadcast journalism students is among those offered.

Dedicated to the memory of long-time TAB President and broadcast advocate Ann Arnold, this new $5,000 scholarship is offered to a junior, senior or graduate student enrolled in a fully accredited program of instruction in broadcast journalism at a four-year college or university in Texas and who is in financial need.

TBEF judges will base their decision on the applicant’s grade point average, financial need and completion of an essay.

Eight additional scholarships worth $2,000 each are offered to students enrolled in a broadcast curriculum at a college or university in Texas.

TBEF judges base their decisions on academic achievement, commitment to broadcasting, grade point average and an essay about the student’s future in the business.

Last year’s winners are attending Southern Methodist University; Texas A&M University-Commerce; Texas Tech University (3); and The University of Texas at Austin (3).
