TAB Salutes 2019 Bonner McLane Public Service Winners

Broadcasters honored the exceptional public service contributions of six Texas Radio & Television stations on Thurs., Aug. 8 during TAB's Leadership Breakfast.

"The public service we provide distinguishes local Radio and TV stations from all the other players in the media marketplace that have no real commitment to the communities we work so hard to serve," said TAB Board Member Mike Payne, GM of Salem Media San Antonio.

"Much of our work passes with the seasons…school supply drives in August, winter coat drives in late fall, house fans in the summer. Some is ongoing…pet adoptions, restocking food banks, park clean-ups, raising money for our local hospitals, schools and other charities. And, sadly, every now and then it’s a crisis…flash floods, hurricanes, tornados, wildfires.

"But always, no matter the time, broadcasters stand ready to serve," he said.
