Belo seeking Cruz-Dewhurst debate clearance information

WFAA-TV Dallas-Fort Worth, as well as the other Texas Belo Corp. stations KHOU-TV in Houston, KENS-TV in San Antonio and KVUE-TV in Austin, and Texas Cable News (TXCN), will broadcast a one-hour debate on Tuesday, July 17, 7pm CDT featuring GOP U.S. Senate candidates Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst and former Texas Solicitor General Ted Cruz.

Texas voters will decide between Dewhurst and Cruz as the state’s GOP nominee for the U.S. Senate in a run-off election on July 31.

While there are TV market restrictions in Austin, DFW, Houston and San Antonio, Belo has arranged for the majority of Texas radio and TV stations to have free and unrestricted access to the debate to air the event in its entirety or to use portions in station newscasts.

View radio mp3 feed information, TV satellite coordinates, and Austin, DFW, Houston and San Antonio TV market restrictions here.

The TV broadcast feed will be closed captioned and available in English and Spanish.

The radio station mp3 audio feed will only be in English.

Stations contemplating airing the debate live or delayed should inform WFAA’s David Walther with their plans to do so.
