
AP adopts stylebook mental health guidelines
posted on 3.13.2013The Associated Press released new AP Stylebook guidelines for reporters covering mental health issues.
These new guidelines were developed with the support of NAB and others in the entertainment industry following recent tragedies such as the Newtown, CT. school shootings and a renewed national dialogue on mental health.
NAB and TAB strongly endorse this new AP Stylebook entry, and encourage stations and newsroom staff to adopt the suggested guidelines.
Broadcasters are committed to making a positive contribution to the national conversation on violent behavior and mental health.
