Revamped KidVid Report Due Friday, July 10

All full power and Class A Texas television stations must file the first of what will be annual Children’s Television Programming Reports, sometimes called the “KidVid” report by the industry, in the station Public Inspection File by this Friday, July 10.

This new annual report takes the place of quarterly reports which stations have filed for many years.

It chronicles a station’s efforts to meet the FCC’s new educational and informational programming requirements.

Attorney David Oxenford with TAB Associate member law firm Wilkinson Barker Knauer wrote about the new requirements when they were initially released by the FCC last summer.

This new annual children’s programming report was initially due at the end of January but was pushed back to March 10 to help stations get accustomed to the FCC’s new Form 2100, Schedule H, report forms.

The filing of the report was pushed further back to July 10 due to the impact of COVID-19 on station operations.

This first report will cover the period of Sept. 16, 2019 through Dec. 31, 2019.

Reports must be filed online through the Federal Communication Commission’s (“FCC”) Licensing and Management system (“LMS”), which can be accessed here.

The next report will cover all of 2020 and will be due Feb. 1, 2021.
