Analog shut-off tests planned in several Texas markets
posted on 12.16.2008Broadcast TV stations in several Texas markets will temporarily shut off their analog signals on Wed., Dec. 17.
The tests are designed to help viewers determine whether their sets are ready for the DTV transition on Feb. 17, 2009.
The stations are targeting viewers who watch free, over-the-air broadcast television on older, analog TVs with set-top or roof-top antennas.
Wednesday's tests are scheduled for the following markets:
- Abilene-San Angelo
- Amarillo
- Dallas-Fort Worth
- Lubbock
- Midland-Odessa
El Paso has scheduled a test for Thursday, Dec. 18.
