Learn how local news professionals can help people cope with "Fake News."
Esther Thorson, Ph.D., is the associate dean for graduate studies for the Michigan State University College of Communication Arts and Sciences.
Throughout her career, Thorson has studied the relationships between news consumption and political participation.
She is currently working on how news stories about controversial and politicized subjects (e.g., global warming) can be rewritten in ways that reduce the wholesale rejection of them by those who tend to reject fact-based information when it is inconsistent with their world views.
Note: the webinar will be archived and ready one week following each live broadcast.
This webinar is produced in cooperation with the Michigan Association of Broadcasters.
