The Opportunity
WFAA in Dallas, Texas (major market #5) is seeking a Lead Generation Specialist/Business Development Specialist who will be responsible for generating a consistent weekly stream of new qualified prospects at the beginning stage of the sales pipeline for our account executive teams to pursue. This is a sales role that will support the sales efforts of the Austin and San Antonio markets (based in Dallas) and will be tasked with growing new revenue from enterprise accounts.

Call on small to medium sized businesses across the state of Texas
Develop list of prospects to pursue within targeted categories
Generate new qualified prospects through outbound phone calls and email marketing campaigns and assign leads to appropriate account executives while ensuring proper follow up
Assist the sales team with developing new prospects and leads through research/insights
Generate new qualified prospects through current lead generation software, programs, trade publications, etc.
Communicate TEGNA media value proposition
Set in person meetings for sales staff in Austin and San Antonio
Create/execute/monitor/track reporting on the new qualified prospects sales pipeline
Ongoing and ad hoc individual and team sales activity

Bachelor’s degree in related field such as Marketing or Business
1-2 years of sales support, inside or outside sales experience
Strong business and financial acumen
Knowledge of integrated marketing campaigns
Knowledge of digital solution sales and design, mobile advertising, SEO, SEM and social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube
Ability to multitask, manage multiple assignments and prioritize tasks in a fast paced, deadline driven and team oriented environment
Strong written and communication skills
Outgoing personality with outstanding phone mannerism with expertise at developing relationships
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs – MS Word, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
Knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM software preferred
