The following represents brief/broad descriptions.  It is not intended, nor should it be construed, to represent a comprehensive and/or exhaustive description of all duties/responsibilities and requisite skills of each position. 

ANCHOR/REPORTER
Anchor morning and noon newscasts.  Report as needed and assigned.  Anchoring duties may include live field anchoring and other special events.  Be an energetic, effective, clear communicator when telling and selling a story.  Present material in a compelling and engaging manner.  Must be good at research.  Excellent ability to conduct live unscripted interviews.  Ability to ad-lib effectively.  Contribute regularly to social media efforts.  Minimum five years’ experience reporting and anchoring.  College degree is preferred in a communications related field.  Superior knowledge of current events.  Strong command of English language; working knowledge of libel laws and generally accepted journalistic ethics.  Must exercise good judgment.  Must have extensive, proven anchoring/reporting experience in television news.  Must be a highly creative, motivated self-starter, team player and newsroom leader.  Strong social media skills.  Knowledge of newsroom computer systems.  Must have a valid driver’s license.  Must be able to drive company vehicles.  Provide a demo reel link of work in resume/cover letter.

NEWS PRODUCER
Put together a fast-paced, clear newscast with good writing skills, graphics use, and ability to put the best video with the best writing.   Work with reporters and photographers to get the best stories on the air.  Good at researching topics for live interviews in newscast.  Creative producer who can be flexible and change focus of show quickly and efficiently.   Will help post stories to our website, social media and update as needed.  Two years’ experience as a newscast producer.  Working knowledge of libel laws and journalistic ethics.  College degree preferred in related communications field.  Social media skills.  Knowledge of newsroom computer systems.  Must be creative, highly motivated and organized.  Must be a team player.  Ability to work flexible shifts, including overnights and/or weekends. 

PHOTOGRAPHER
Shoot and edit video for daily newscasts.  Cover general news assignments in a fast-paced environment using electronic cameras and editing equipment.  Set-up and shoot interesting stand-ups and live-shots.  Create strong visual story-telling images.  Work with reporters as a team.  Two to three years’ experience as news photographer/editor at an affiliated broadcast television station.  College degree preferred in related communications field.  Must be creative and a quick learner.  Must be a team player and have good journalistic skills.  Excellent videography, lighting, audio, non-linear editing and computer skills required.  Must be able to drive company vehicles.  Valid driver license and good driving record required.  Additional skillset of writing, posting to social media and working on assignment desk preferred. Ability to work flexible shifts.  Must have the ability to lift/carry up to 60 pounds of camera, tripod and other related equipment, and the ability to set up live remotes, including carrying cable reels and pulling cable for live shots.  Provide a demo reel link of work in resume/cover letter.

MULTIMEDIA JOURNALIST
Enterprise, research, report, shoot and edit news stories on a daily basis, emphasizing creativity and originality.  Deliver the news in a conversational, credible style.  Tell compelling stories, and have excellent live shot abilities.  Cover stories and disseminate information over multiple platforms, including television, social media, mobile devices and the internet. Perform duties of on-line writer/producer, specializing in print style writing, copy editing and editorial gathering. Facilitate the editorial gathering of local web news, gleaning information from various sources and contacts and reproducing the above material into strong compelling web material. Prior experience as a multimedia journalist/television news reporter.  College degree preferred in communications related field.  Strong command of English language; working knowledge of libel laws and generally accepted journalistic ethics.  Must have social media savvy as well as traditional media.  Must know how to use digital tools – cameras, iPads, editing software, cloud servers – to gather information.  Must be a highly creative, motivated self-starter and be a team player.  Must exercise good judgment.  Must be able to carry and set up equipment.  Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to drive company vehicles.  Provide a demo reel link of work in resume/cover letter.

FLOOR MANAGER
Responsible for upkeep of studio equipment: cameras, monitors & audio gear. Responsible for lighting sets and operation of light board. Responsible for cleanliness and upkeep of studio, the set and green room. Responsible for changing lamps in studio light grid. Assist on-air guests with mics, IFBs, props, etc.  Assist directors with scripts and other pre-show duties. Assist Operations Control with ingesting spots, recording feeds and segmenting programs. Assist Engineering with various projects. Assist Facilities Manager with various projects. Fill-in as News Production Technician during automated or manual newscasts. Some field production may be required. Fill-in when others are out sick or on vacation.  Degree in Radio/TV/Film or Communications with a concentration in television production, or equivalent experience. Overall knowledge of television production and live newscast production. 1 year Floor Managing experience. Knowledge of lighting sets for television. Strong leadership and people skills.  Must be able to work a 4 day, 40 hour work week; split 12hr shifts on Saturday and Sunday and 8hr shifts Monday and Tuesday. Must be willing to be on-call.

DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
Responsible for monthly close.  Maintain general ledger.  Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.  Assist V.P. Finance with annual budget.  Responsible for all account analysis, fixed assets and special projects.  Perform Accounts Payable functions; forward invoices to home office and track outstanding invoices until payment by home office.  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.  2-4 years broadcast industry experience preferred.  Excellent PC and spreadsheet skills.  Organized, motivated and detail-oriented.  Must be flexible and able to multi-task as priorities change.

DIGITAL SALES MANAGER
FTS is hiring a Digital Sales Manager at KTBC in Austin, TX.  The individual will be responsible for conceptualizing and executing a winning digital sales strategy.  Position will report to the local VP General Sales Manager and the VP of Digital Sales.  The Digital Sales Manager (DSM) will be responsible for the overall monetization strategy for the Station's website, apps, OTT and social media platforms.  The DSM plays a key role as the driving force behind revenue growth and new digital business development.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop revenue-producing digital sales ideas for station from start to finish.  Increasing local revenue share and driving creation of new digital business.  Primary point of contact for all local digital sales campaigns.  Internal expert on digital sales.  Coach and motivate local sales staff.  Track/maintain digital sales records for all clients.  Create effective sales presentations and one-sheets, giving clients a clear picture of opportunities presented to them.  Analyze campaign performance and communicate results to clients.  Other duties as deemed necessary and assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:  5+ years digital sales or sales management experience preferred.  BA in Marketing, Communications or related field.  Deep understanding of digital sales and how to meet clients’ needs while also meeting/exceeding revenue goals.  Expert in social media monetization.  Understanding of ad tags, analytics and campaign tools.  Demonstrated leadership skills.  Experience developing/motivating winning teams.  Must be able to thrive in an intense, fast-moving environment.  Must be creative and have a passion for innovation.  Must be a strong communicator with significant experience building/delivering presentations.  Working knowledge of DART or similar operation systems.
