NextGen TV: No Internet, No Problem – TV Datacasting Supporting Remote Learning
Categories: Television, Technical, NextGen
Datacasting has been around since the digital conversion 20 years ago and is now being used to address the digital divide.
Teachers can reach their entire class and even message individual students, no Internet required.
This is in use today in several states and is ATSC 3 ready.
The receiver is an ATSC 3 home gateway that has been modified to support datacasting.
This session will explore use cases, grant funding sources, and show live examples of how it is being used today.
New use cases that are evolving beyond K-12 education will also be discussed.
