Texas’ Primary Entry Point (PEP) stations (WBAP-AM Dallas-Fort Worth and KTRH-AM Houston) which originate the Texas EAS Required Monthly Test (RMT) have released the 2012 EAS RMT schedule.

WBAP and KTRH initiate the RMT on the Tuesday of the first full week of each month.

Other EAS regions receive the RMT via either a daisy chain relay or by the Texas State Networks’ satellite dissemination

If the RMT is not received by a station, the FCC requires the station make “a good faith effort” to determine why it was not received.

It is sufficient under the FCC’s rules to make an inquiry to the local primary station and note the results of the inquiry in the station’s EAS log.
