Mr. Clanton began his Broadcasting career at KODA-1010AM, Houston in 1975. He worked at various stations in the Tulsa Market, and then successfully launched Classic Rock Z-102/KPEZ-FM, Austin and Business Radio 650 in Houston. Mr. Clanton was also part of the transition team that evolved KODA-FM into SUNNY 99.1 in Houston. While at SUNNY, he created and hosted the Sunday Jazz Brunch, and created the Smooth Jazz Saturday Night boutique features. Most recently, Mr. Clanton was the architect behind the creation of the BizRadio Network in Houston and Dallas (KXYZ, KTEK, KMNY, and KJSA), a collaboration with the financial advisory firm of Frishberg, Jordan, Stewart & Kaleta. “Radio has to be a three-way win,” says Clanton. “You must consider the listener, the client, and the station’s interests in all aspects of an operation…and you’re only as good as your last performance. Smoke and mirrors are no substitute for quality.” The Clanton’s have been married 28-years and have two grown children. |
