February 8, 2010 KRGV-TV is accepting applications for the position of Engineer Operator. JOB DESCRIPTION: ● Operate broadcast equipment such as Beta and DVC-Pro Video tape recorders ● Satellite earth-station controllers & receivers ● Video servers ● ENG receive systems ● Routing systems ● Audio mixing consoles ● Camera video control panels The operator will primarily program and load spot playback systems, transfer commercial and program content from various sources, and maintain documentation of content, in coordination with other departments. Additional duties will include audio mixing for newscasts and other production, review and quality control of recorded material, occasional switching of on-air programming, monitoring and logging of transmitter status, and other related duties as directed by the Chief Engineer. Working hours may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Requirements: knowledge of broadcast video and audio systems, experience with video tape and servers, C-band and Ku-band satellite receive systems, and computer operation, including familiarity with Windows NT, 2000, and XP operating systems. Experience with post-production video editing, on-air switching, and live production audio is a plus.
